Simone Biles, one of the most decorated gymnasts ever, will call "Riders Up" at the 2025 Kentucky Derby before the race begins on May 3.
Biles has 41 total medals, including 30 from world championships and 11 from the Olympics, making her the most awarded gymnast in U.S. history.
As part of Derby tradition, Biles will give the "Riders Up" command on NBC, signaling jockeys to mount before the 5:57 p.m. race start.
Livvy Dunne, a gymnast and social media star, will call "Riders Up" for the Kentucky Oaks, also held on Derby Day at Churchill Downs.
Riders Up!" is the official command for jockeys to mount. Since 2012, celebrities have been invited to give the call before the Kentucky Derby.
The command happens about 19 minutes before the Derby begins and is followed by jockeys heading to the racetrack via the Paddock Runway.
Past “Riders Up” announcers include Patrick Mahomes, Jack Harlow, Martha Stewart, Baker Mayfield, and Laila Ali among other celebrities.
In 2015, Teddy Bridgewater delivered a memorable “Riders Up!” celebrating Louisville, Kentucky, and fans around the world watching the event.
