– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts – 1 cup all-purpose flour – 2 large eggs, beaten – 1 cup breadcrumbs – 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese – 2 cups marinara sauce – 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese – Salt and pepper to taste – 2 tbsp olive oil – Fresh basil for garnish
Pound chicken breasts to even thickness, then season both sides with salt and pepper. Prepare three bowls with flour, eggs, and breadcrumb mix.
Dip chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb-Parmesan mix. Make sure each piece is well-coated before setting aside to rest for a few minutes.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place cooked chicken on a baking tray. Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken piece.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously on top of the marinara-covered chicken. Add extra Parmesan if desired for extra cheesiness.
Bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Chicken should be hot all the way through.
Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil and serve with pasta or garlic bread. Enjoy!
